Mr. Osvaldo De Santiago
Mr. De Santiago attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he received his bachelors degree in Spanish. He went on to get a Master's degree in elementary education from Northern Illinois University. Mr. De Santiago continued his education at Roosevelt University where he received his Type 75 certification which allowed him to work as a school administrator.
Mr. De Santiago understands the value of education as a way for people to accomplish their goals and fulfill their dreams. He appreciates the sacrifice his parents made when they immigrated to this country in order to give him and his siblings opportunities to advance in their lives. Mr. De Santiago hopes to lead the students he serves to take advantage of the opportunities they have and not take their education for granted.
Mr. De Santiago is honored to serve as the assistant principal of Brighton Park Elementary. He loves the relationships he has developed here with students, staff, and parents of the community. Brighton Park has become his second home.
When Mr. De Santiago is not working hard at Brighton Park, he is busy chasing his two energetic toddlers around, Leonardo and Osvaldo II. During his free time, Mr. De Santiago enjoys playing basketball and baseball. He has been playing baseball since the age of 5. He is currently the catcher on a men's baseball team which he has played on for the last 17 years.
