Mr. Rolando Vázquez

7th Grade Literacy 




​Mr. Vazquez attended public schools in Waukegan before attended college to get his bachelors and then his masters!  Along the way Mr. Vazquez held jobs as a gas station attendant, warehouse manager, forklift operator, delivery driver, retail sales, office assistant, after school program coordinator, and now TEACHER!  During his teaching career he has taught in schools across Chicago’s Back of the Yards and Brighton Park.

For Mr. Vazquez, education is empowerment, meaning, and freedom. His goals are to be a good father to his daughters, make a positive impact on his students, and learn how to speak Portuguese.


Mr. Vazquez teachs Reading, Writing, and Social Studies. He also serves on the Local School Council and advises the BP Delegate of the Chicago Teachers Union. Mr. Vazquez loves the relationships with the students, parents, and faculty at BPES.


Mr. Vazquez is the proud father of two daughters and enjoys dancing with his wife and cooking delicious meals for his family. He also loves spinning vinyl records in his free time.
