Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to Brighton Park Elementary school, we are glad you are here!  Here at Brighton Park Elementary, we are committed to the education of every student with an emphasis on providing a supportive environment.  In fact, we were just awarded the Exemplary Supportive School designation by CPS.  As a part of these efforts we use restorative practices when addressing student behavior and ensure that social-emotional learning is a part of every child's day.

Brighton Park Elementary is also proud to be a Sustainable Community School.  Through our partnership with Brighton Park Neighborhood Council we are able to provide adult programs, after school classes, enrichment for students, mental health support, and more.  At Brighton Park we strive to take a community centered approach, meeting all of the needs of our students and families.  We hope that you will feel this every time you walk through the doors of our building.

Our vision is to grow leaders who are engaged, empowered, and educated.  This means that we provide opportunities to develop leadership for all of our students.  We are happy to be a Leader in Me school, you can learn more about Leader in Me and the 7 habits of happy kids and effective teens by visiting our Leader in Me page on our website!

Parents are an integral part of their children’s education.  We hope that you will be involved in your child’s education by reading with them at home, helping with homework, attending parent-teacher conferences, and participating in parent workshops.  There are several opportunities throughout the year for you to engage with your child and his/her teachers in the educational process.

It is my goal to make sure that every child feels supported and a sense of belonging in our school.  All of the work that we do rests within our four core values:  Rigorous Academics, Supportive Environment, Culturally Responsive and Equitable, and Student and Community Centered.  You can learn more about how we live out these values through our work by visiting our Mission and Vision page.

Should you ever have any question or concerns please don't hesitate to reach out to me.  You can email me at sbbosch@cps.edu
or make an appointment by contacting the main office.

We look forward to sharing an exciting year full of learning with you!

Sincerely,
Sara Haas, Ed.D.
