Dr. Sara HaasPrincipalDr. Haas has spend over a decade teaching and leading in Chicago Public Schools. She received her teaching certificate and Bachelor in Elementary Education from Illinois State University. She attended Loyola University Chicago to get her Doctorate of Education in administration and supervision. Before coming to Brighton Park Elementary, she spent 8 years teaching and as an assistant principal in the Little Village neighborhood.
Dr. Haas is dedicated to community-based education that addresses the needs the entire child and family. She believes that it is the role of the school to not only prepare a student to be college and career ready, but to also ensure that they have the tools to be responsible and successful members of society. Throughout her career she has formed partnerships with community organizations that can meet the unique and diverse needs of my students. Dr. Haas prides herself on creating a nurturing culture and enriching learning environment for students in which they are all able to experience success. Dr. Haas loves being the principal of Brighton Park Elementary. She is so proud of her dedicated and talented staff. Everyday Dr. Haas sees educators that go above and beyond, parents that work to make the school and community a better place, and students who continue to S.O.A.R. Dr. Haas loves to spend time with her family, especially her young daughter. Together they love to travel, spend time at the lake, and explore the great city of Chicago. |
